What’s in Warcraft Conquest?

One of the greatest accomplishments in World of Warcraft is landing a legendary piece of gear. With each legendary piece denoted by orange tooltips, you can show off to the world that you completed a ridiculously hard quest chain or item gathering grind to get yours. Here’s a quick look at all six legendaries currently available in the game.

Vanilla Legendaries

In the original game there are two legendary weapons you can still get. These include Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. The former is made from items you can gather in Molten Core, one of the tougher instances in the original World of Warcraft. The latter is a one handed sword dropped by Thunderaan. To summon this boss, you’ll need to gather a good amount of Elementium, a super rare item that only appears in Blackwing Lair. You’ll also need some rare item drops out of Molten Core.

Burning Crusade Legendaries

There are two legendary items that drop in the Burning Crusade. They include the Warglaive of Azzinoth (mainhand and offhand) and Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury. The Warglaive is technically one item, but there are two versions – both of which drop from Illidan Stormrage. You can carry both blades as a dual wielder (available for Warriors, Rogues, and DKs). The second legendary is Thori’dal, a bow that drops from Kil’jaeden in the Sunwell Plateau.

Wrath Legendaries

In Wrath of the Lich King, there are two legendary weapons. The first is Val’anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings. This is a one handed mace which can be used by Druids, Shaman, Paladins, and Priests. You will need 30 fragments of the weapon to forge it, which drop from bosses in the Ulduar raid.

The second weapon in Wrath is Shadowmourne, a two-handed ax which requires you to complete anumber of quests and gather reagents only available in Icecrown Citadel. These fragments are only available in 25 player or heroic mode.

Future Legendaries

Right now the Cataclysm Legendaries have not yet been announced. That said, we know they’re coming. Originally we thought Ashbringer might be available, but that seems unlikely after what happened to end Wrath’s storyline.

And of course, there will eventually be new legendaries for raid instances in Cataclysm like Firelands. When that happens, be prepared for an epic grind to land all of the pieces needed to create your new legendary weapon.

One of the hardest things to do in World of Warcraft is complete heroic instances and raids. Available only after you reach the level cap, heroics and raids allow you to show off your skills with your guild. They require you to have high-level gear, usually rare or epic, a team of players who know how to play their roles and classes, and a whole lot of time to practice each and every possible strategy. So what do you need before you go on a heroic run? Let's take a closer look.

The Right Gear

First on the list is gear. Despite what Blizzard has said in the past, gear is still a very important part of raiding and running instances. However the exact definition of what’s required has changed quite a bit over the years. For example, when Cataclysm was released, a lot of the new stats that had been added over the last five years were either removed or simplified. Things like armor penetration, spell power, and the overly complicated mana system were changed or removed to make it easier for new players to get into the game.

So what do you need before you can run a heroic instance? To start with you should have a full set of blue gear. Usually you will get this gear by completing all of the normal instances between level 80 and 85. However, if this is too much, you can also pay for them in the auction house or look for people in trade chat to buy them from. Either way, you need to make sure you have enough blue gear on hand before you step foot into a heroic instance, otherwise you’ll just cause problems for your guild.

A Guild with Skill

The next major step in preparing for heroics in World of Warcraft is to find a good guild with players who'll spend a lot of time practicing and preparing before going into these instances. Using the dungeon finder is one thing when you're running normal instances at level 81, but when you reach level 85 and want to run heroic instances, you need people who know how to play their role successfully for an entire instance. This is especially true when you start running raids at level 85.

You probably won't find a high-level guild right away, but if you find a good guild and practice a lot, eventually you’ll get into a guild that will help you combat some of the hardest bosses and newest instances in the game as they are released.

Heroic instances are one of the most fun aspects of WoW, but they aren't easy. It takes time, preparation, and a good team before you'll be ready to take on these high-level bosses. So start practicing now so you can eventually enjoy all the great things that World of Warcraft has to offer when you reach the end of the game.

If you ask 100 players in World of Warcraft what thing they would like to do most, most of them would say make more gold. What is it about this shiny little metal that gets so many players excited? Likely it’s all the amazing things you can buy with it – from the epic mounts to the high-level gear and consumables needed to run the highest level raids.

So what exactly do you need to build your own truly epic gold stash? There are a few tricks you can use but mostly you just need to be smart about how you spend your gold and more importantly how you spend your time.

Using the Auction House

First on the list is the auction house. The auction house is by far the best way to make gold in World of Warcraft. It may seem boring at first, but if you think about it the auction house is very similar to the stock market in the real world. If you know what you're doing, have enough gold to get started, and are willing to spend a lot of time researching and learning about different items in the game you can make a ton of gold in very little time.

Now compare that to how most people make gold. They spend hours running around, farming on everything from herbs to ore to skins and beyond. In reality there is a cap on how much gold you can make using these methods. If you try to make gold solely from farming, you can make anywhere from 400 to 1000 gold per hour. But why stop there?

With the auction house you can actually make thousands of gold per hour and not actually spend any extra time playing the game. For sure time is needed to set it up and even more time will be spent checking in on your investments and reading up on the most recent news in the game, but after two or three weeks you can spend as little as 20 or 30 minutes in the auction house and make thousands of gold a day.

Getting the Right Tools

To use the auction house successfully, you need the right tools. This means getting add-ons for your World of Warcraft UI including Auctioneer, Market Watcher, Postal, and a couple other tools that may be useful to you. Exactly how you set up your auction house UI depends largely on what you prefer, but regardless of your preference you'll find that there are a lot of ways to make gold that don't require you to spend hundreds of hours each week farming.

In fact you can even pay other people to farm for you and make money off their work. The bottom line is this – if you're a smart player and invest time now you'll eventually be able to do pretty much anything you want in World of Warcraft with a big stash of gold.

One of the hardest things in World of Warcraft is finding information about PVP. There are a lot of reasons for this. First the PVP changes constantly. Second, PVP is dynamic. There are no universal tips that make it easy. What works for one player may not work for another. However, if you do everything properly and learn your way around each of the character classes, eventually you’ll dominate PVP in ways you never thought possible. Here are five ways to do just that:

1.	Learn Every Class - There are ten classes in World of Warcraft and each class has three specializations. That means there are 30 potential opponents you could face, each of them with different strategies, tactics, and combat methods depending on their experience and personal preferences. By learning each class’s most common combat methods and how they would react to your class, you'll severely cut down on how much guessing you have to do during a fight.
2.	Play Every Battleground - If you want to maximize your conquest points and really take off in the battlegrounds you should play each Battleground equally and not just the ones you enjoy. Feel free to spend as much time as you like in the Battlegrounds that you do like, but don't forget to practice at least once a week in the others.
3.	Join a Group or a Guild – One of the easiest ways to get better in PVP is to join a group of fellow players and work with them. Using the battleground finder or simply hopping into random arena teams can be fun but it won't help you learn to work with other people.
4.	Keep up on the Latest Patches - When a patch occurs in World of Warcraft a lot of things change, but nothing changes more than how PVP works. To really stay ahead of the curve you need to know what's coming, test the changes on the PTR server, and work with your fellow players to develop strategies for when the patch goes live.
5.	Learn Your Hotkeys - Your keyboard is your best friend. Forget about the mouse and learn how to use each of the keys on your keyboard to master the rapid input of commands. The faster you can enter your commands, the more of an upper hand you’ll have over your opponents.

Why is PVP in World of Warcraft so hard? Because there are so many other players working just as hard as or harder than you with whom you need to compete. Unlike instances and raids where you just need to learn the tactics and practice repeatedly, PVP requires you to learn everything your opponent could possibly do so that you be ready when it happens. Hopefully these five tips will help you get started, don't forget to keep researching and spend plenty of time watching videos to learn more about how PVP works both for your class and the other nine.

There's yet one more World of Warcraft guide on the market this week. The guide, called Warcraft Conquest, supposedly goes way beyond the normal boundaries of a World of Warcraft leveling or gold guide. But what does that mean? Do we need another World of Warcraft leveling or gold guide? There are thousands of World of Warcraft guides on the Internet and none of them really cover everything in depth. There are some very good leveling guides and some fantastic gold guides, but no true “mastery” guides for the stuff that really helps players stand out in a game like this.

That's where Warcraft Conquest is supposed to come in. From the guru who developed Warcraft Formula, Warcraft Conquest is designed to cover all the important things that a high-level player in World of Warcraft wants to excel at. The guide’s author, Max Lee, has supposedly been playing this game since the early betas.

That means he’s been able to acquire hundreds of thousands of gold, master multiple classes in both factions, and dominate dozens of instances from the most basic early level instances in vanilla WoW up to the most complicated instances in Cataclysm. The guide itself is made up of dozens of videos, including everything from videos of Blackwing Descent, advanced PVP videos of arenas, battlegrounds like Alterac Valley and Twin Peaks, and world PVP zones like Wintergrasp.

So, the question is do you need another World of Warcraft guide? The answer to that depends largely on what you’re working towards in the game. If you're still trying to level up and reach level 85 for the first time or if your only goal is farming for gold you may want to look for another guide. Warcraft Conquest is much more than those other guides can offer. This guide was developed to help players at level 85 be the best they can be in PVP, raiding, gold making, and everything in between. There aren’t many other guides that can say that.

I got an email the other day talking about a brand-new World of Warcraft guide. I can one of these emails every week, so most of the time I just ignore them because I feel like I've read every single possible World of Warcraft guide on the market. But this time something made me keep reading. The email talked about how most World of Warcraft guides only focus on basic things like leveling or making gold, but this new guide was going to be different.

Most of the time when someone says they built something that looks different I take it with a grain of salt. At the very least though I feel like I should take a look at the guide and determine for myself if it’s something worth reading. In this particular case I'm really glad I did because what I found was a guide that goes well beyond the basics of most World of Warcraft guides.

What does that mean? It means that instead of just learning how to reach level 85 as we've all done 100 times, or how to start making gold in the earliest zones of the game which we’ve all done a thousand times, you’ll learn how to master endgame content that only a select few players can do. That means dominating in PVP arenas and battlegrounds or destroying a raid boss in the first run through.

But that's just getting started. Max Lee, the gamer behind Warcraft Conquest, has put together a collection of videos that includes everything from how to defeat heroic bosses in Vortex Pinnacle, all the way to how to dominate with every single class in the game. While some of these things have shown up in other guides, rarely are they all put together and even more rarely are they shown in videos.

Will Warcraft Conquest be the best guide you ever use? That depends on where you are in the game and what kind of player you hope to be. However from what I've seen thus far this is one of the better guides for endgame content I've used in a long time. With social tools, interaction with other players, and plenty of content to keep you busy at level 85, you won't get much better than Warcraft Conquest.

World of Warcraft is a very complicated game. Since it was released in 2004, three separate expansion packs have been released containing hundreds of quests, dozens of instances, and plenty to do when you reach the level cap. So understandably there have been a lot of guides released to show players how to do all the things available in this game. Most of the guides focus on one of three things – gold making, leveling, or PVP. Many of them do it very well, but they don't seem to cover everything with the same level of detail as they could.

So when I heard about Warcraft Conquest, produced by Max Lee, one of the founders of Warcraft Formula, I was very intrigued. This is a guy who has covered dozens of topics in World of Warcraft with an eye for detail that only an expert can have. So obviously this new guide is designed to be a very thorough look at almost every aspect of the game when you reach level 85. But, what does that mean?

After taking a look at the guide, I was surprised to find that Max covers almost every aspect of the game. He has a great starting set of videos that includes things like knowing your role, crowd control, race/class combinations, and using heirlooms to help you level up faster. He then goes on to cover each of the classes in the game, ways to make gold with both the auction house and farming, and how to get the most out of basic PVP strategies.

The real meat of this guide though is the endgame content. This means PVP guides for each of the classes, a growing collection of reputation videos, talent specializations for each class, tips for finding vanity items and the all-important legendary items, and a huge collection of videos going over everything you need in PVE to dominate high-level bosses and instances. Whether or not this guide is useful for you depends a lot on what you want to get out of World of Warcraft. However, regardless of your level or what you enjoy doing in this game, I recommend you at least try out Warcraft Conquest and see some of the great things you could be doing when you reach level 85.
